Today (as of 7:08 am)

Enjoying a 45 minute headstart on my kids.  Waking up before them makes a big difference in my mornings.

Just finished a 10 minute yoga video on you tube.  Nice and easy way to start the day and feel like I’ve done something to pay attention to my physical health.

Having cream in my coffee, which feels like a treat.  Purchased with a coupon.  (I spent $80 on $150 worth of groceries.  Whaaaaat?  I’m on fire!)

Reading this article.  Lots to think about.

Liking the sound of rain outside.

Happy Wednesday!

  1. i liked the article- although clearly roth is not mindful of the mother of small children, “a person must eat calmly, when hungry, without distractions, with much pleasure, and until she is satisfied.” i wish – half the time i’m hiding in the bathroom 🙂

as a side note, we should talk. i’m drinking green smoothies (one or two a day) – see book “green for life” or or watch this bizarre music video that i both love and hate (why are they calling themselves “kids”?!)

i still eat meat and stuff but i’m finding this is a great way to get my allotted amount of fruits and veggies each day – energy is up – binge eating is down – skin even looks better. you should try it. i can send you a couple smoothie recipes – although in reality you can put whatever you want in there. i completely made one up yesterday (a banana, an orange, 1 cup of grapes, 3 baby carrots, 1 1/2 cups of green beans, 2 swiss chard leaves, 1+ tbsp ground flaxseed, and 1 cup water) and it was my favorite one to date.

drinking raw vegetables mixed with fruit. its like an answer to prayer.

    • yes. roth does not mention eating leftovers off your kids’ plates and calling it “lunch”, either. where is the chapter in her book about that?

that smoothie sounds weird but if you say it’s good i’ll trust you. i should get out of my smoothie rut- i stick with the same combo every time– banana, some type of berry or peach, and baby spinach. milk for the liquid (o.j. tastes too acidic and and jacks my sugar intake way up). i haven’t thought about adding flaxseed. that’s a great idea.
